From all points south of New York City

Take Interstate 95 North, New Jersey Turnpike (toll Rd.), to Exit 13, I-278, Verrazano Narrows Bridge. Follow I-278 East all the way into New York (toll bridges along route). After crossing the Verrazano Narrows Bridge, remain on I-278 East which becomes the Brooklyn-Queens Expwy.

Cars: Take Exit 39, Grand Central Parkway/La GuardiaAirport/Astoria Blvd. East. Take the Grand Central Parkway East to Exit 9A, Whitestone Bridge/NY 25A East, Northen Blvd. When exiting, keep to the right following the sign for Shea Stadium. Take the Worlds Fair Marina/Shea Stadium Exit making an immediate right (practically a U-turn) onto Stadium Rd. Follow Stadium Rd. until it ends. Make a right turn onto Perimeter Rd. and follow it to the Vatican Pavilion Site.

Buses and commercial vehicles (not permitted on parkways) traveling on I-278 East, Brooklyn Queens Expwy, take Exit 35, I-495, Long Island Expwy. Take the Long Island Expwy East to Exit 21, 108 St. Make a left turn on 108 St. and proceed one mile to Roosevelt Ave. Make a right turn onto Roosevelt Ave. After passing 114 St., make the first right turn. Follow this road into park using the signs Theatre in the Park as a guide.

   All points west of New York City

Take Interstate 80 East to the George Washington Bridge (toll bridge). After crossing the bridge using either the upper or lower level, follow signs for 1-95 North, Cross Bronx Expwy to Exit 6A Whitestone Bridge/I-678 South. After crossing the Whitestone Bridge (toll bridge) bear to the right and follow signs for I-678/Whitestone Expwy,Van Wyck Expwy. Take Exit 13, Grand Central Parkway/La Guardia Airport/Triboro Bridge keeping to the far right. Take the first exit 25A West, Northern Blvd. Shea Stadium. Proceed on Northern Blvd. through the first set of trafficlights, then take the next right, World's Fair Marina/Shea Stadium. Then make the first left under the elevated roads. Shea Stadium should be directly in front of you. Make a right turn onto Stadium Rd., and follow it down until it ends. Make a right turn onto Perimeter Rd. and follow it down to the Vatican Pavilion Site.

From upstate New York: Take Interstate 87 South until it ends in New York City. Cars: Take 1-278 West/Triboro Bridge/Long Island Exit to the Triboro Bridge (toll bridge). Cross the bridge and take the Grand Central Parkway East. Refer to directions above From all points south of New York City where it states: the

 

Grand Central Pkwy EAST. Buses and commercial vehicles on I-87 South (not permitted on parkways) take 1-95, Cross Bronx Expwy (exit is not numbered, but it follows Exit 9). Proceed on 1-95 North to Exit 6A, Whitestone Bridge. Refer to directions above from all points west of New York City where it states: Crossing the Whitestone Bridge.

From New England:
Take Interstate 95 South all the way to New York. Cars: Take Exit 14, Hutchinson Pkwy South/Whitestone Bridge. Buses and commercial vehicles: (not permitted on parkways) take Exit 6A, Whitestone Bridge/Bruckner Blvd. Upon exiting at 6A, SLOW DOWN! You'll be making an immediate left to the Whitestone Bridge. All vehicles: Refer to directions above From all points west of New York City where it states: Crossing the Whitestone Bridge.

From the Lincoln Tunnel:
Upon entry in Manhattan make a right turn heading South and make a left on 34th St., crossing Manhattan. Cross 2nd Ave. and take first left to the Queens-Midtown Tunnel entrance. Upon exiting take I-495, Long Island Expwy.Cars: Take 1-278 East, Brooklyn Queens Expwy/La Guardia Airport Exit to Exit 39,
